Total Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp. canola oil or sesame oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • A ca. 2 cm long piece of ginger, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1/2 small head of cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1 spring onion, finely chopped
  • 200g mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tbsp. dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar

Directions

  1. Heat the canola oil / sesame oil in a pot over low-medium heat

  2. Add chopped onion, garlic, ginger and cabbage. Stir well and cook for about 3-4 minutes or unil the cabbage becomes soft

  3. Then, add the chopped mushrooms and spring onion and let everything cook for another minute

  4. After about 1 minute add all of the other ingredients (salt, flour, dark soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar). Give it a good stir and cook for 5 minutes

  5. Add a bit more salt if needed and start filling your dumplings

  6. Enjoy!

Notes

After steaming the dumplings, I love to add a chili broth on top. For ca. 26 dumplings you’ll need 100ml vegetable broth, 1 tbsp. sesame oil or canola oil and 1 tsp. chili flakes. Give everything a good stir and start drizzling it on top of your hot dumplings 🙂

Tip: Chop all your veggies in a food processor to save time
