Burger Patties with Kidney Beans and Sweet Corn


  • 1 can 400g kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 medium red onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 3 1/2 tbsp. sweet corn
  • 1 tbsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • 6-7 tbsp. flour
  • Olive oil


  1. Mash kidney beans with a fork or roughly blend them in a food processor
  2. Heat some olive oil in a pan over medium heat

  3. Add red onion and garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Remove pan from heat

  4. Add kidney beans, onion and garlic from the pan, flour, paprika, chili, soy sauce, sweet corn, flour and some salt and pepper to a bowl

  5. Mix the mixture with your hands until well combined

  6. Form 4-6 patties out of the mixture

  7. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and add your burger patties

  8. Cook them for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy
